The subjects are inspired by nature: animals, flowers, butterflies.
Veronique paints birds and wonderful fishes, cats with perfectly cut stripes, flowers more dazzling than nature. Those images make us smile. Here's an artist that kept the soul of a child! We see an artist who has developed her painting techniques using her imagination, her sensitiveness, the beauty she grants to life. Her pictorial art reflects her interiority; her childhood, the steps of her life, her country and especially her faith in the existence of her art.
Her work with colors is very personal and creates powerful contrasts between the na�ve subjects and the complex techniques she uses to give them life. The textures are smooth and opaque sometimes to give a mosaic effect.
V�ronique Godbout was born in Canada in 1970, she has been performing her visual art since 1989. She made exhibitions trough Quebec, Canada, Europe and the United States. A graduate in graphic design at the University of Quebec in Montreal she is a freelance illustration artist. She is currently the Department Chair of the Graphic Design Department at the College of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
