Marco Abbamondi, born in Naples on June 7, 1974. Extrovert and communicative, as many Neapolitans are, I like to describe myself as an ‘’instinctive artist’’, very careful to the world around me.
My "adventure" in the world of arts began in 1999 when I felt the need to express my point of view. My work aims at expressing an idea of art as a mix of "culture and energy". Travelling often inside and outside Europe, I am a careful observer of uses, customs and above all architectures around me. After producing small wooden works inspired by Naples’ architectures and colours, I decide to widen my artistic horizons, expanding from the Neapolitan tradition to contemporary art. One of the best examples of my personal mix of ‘’old and new’’ is a post-modern version of Neapolitan classic Crib. My works are not necessarily connected to a traditional style, but inspired to solutions dictated from freedom of shapes mixed to sounds, games of lights, images, ancient and modern elements.
