Guy Wooles BA(Hons)
From working for the Welsh Arts Council and the construction industry I went into management for a design company before returning to education and achieving an honours degree in Fine Art in Context.
My final university project involved sending sculpted newspaper penguins around the world (including New Zealand and the North Pole) and documenting their experiences on a website called Paper Penguins.
Following university I travelled to Australia and New Zealand meeting up with my first paper penguin Dennis, located at a penguin colony on the South Island. I also gave talks about my project including press and TV interviews. On returning to the UK I set up my own web and graphic design company straying into garden design.
This work is an excursion into exotic wildlife and abstraction that has allowed me to return to techniques and styles that excited me when I first started learning about art (i.e. I get to play again!).
I currently live and work in Penarth, just outside Cardiff.
