About the artist
Member since the very beginning
I am an Italian artist living in Scotland at the moment. I started painting in 1999 when I first moved to England and thereafter to the US. Glue and acrylic are the media I work with. A casual but thought-out technique created to have texture, depth and contrast. I am indebted to my father, a self-taught artist. He was the first to show me colours and brushes. I emote in colours, I think in colours, I react in colours, so I create in colours, whatever media, materials, forms. I express states of mind and heart and the most common feelings of each human being, such as happiness and joy as well as pain and suffering or loss and death. These are shared feelings and therefore what you see in my painting and what emotions it arouses in you, it's all important to me. All my work is inspired by the moment , made instinctively according to my mood and my feelings.
I tend to use bright colours as I feel they give a better interpretation of the feelings I want to express. Happy moments as well as painful ones. They are an extension of me. Although my main interest is painting I also enjoy all sorts of creative activities and craft projects including photography and web- designing. I have no formal training in any of these but I like to try everything to see what I am best at. And I can only know that by trying them all.
