Briana Cash, a woman made to capture or be captured. I am a visual artist who seeks full self-expression through the creation and execution of imagery. My interest lies in recovering something normally lost in translation. I currently freelance and reside in sunny Santa Barbara. The hats I wear include but are not limited to photography, retouching, editing, mixed media, and I sure do give a hand in the way of art direction.
I create images to convey ideas and translate concepts that speak to the soul. Every picture of mine is a homemade piece of my life. I acknowledge and dance daringly with vibrant colour. My true passion is portraiture. These images are epic and stylized visions of grandeur. My portrait world, of beautiful beings manifests through the contrast of my life experience. The soul of this work allows me the opportunity to expand my circle of culture and ideas. My sensual collection of images represents and promote cultural understanding through questioning my own concepts of self-liberation vs. self-imprisonment, mission vs. journey and love by association. While shooting my female subjects there is deliberate intention while giving way to exploration.
The truth is I chase the beautiful light for so many different reasons. I want to challenge you, leave you with an idea or an impression, create some visual stamp for you to question or wonder about. I trust my art.
