My work is distinguishable by my fondness for bold color and contrast. Not particular with straight lines or proper proportions, my work focuses on color and energy. I draw a lot of my images from my extensive experiences in Theatre and my love of Literature. The paintings themselves are nothing short of theatrical. Although I try to avoid categorization, my work is best described as a sort of Surreal Expressionism. There is usually more to the image than what is seen, it is the responsibility of the viewer to give meanings and interpretations. As I often say when asked what a painting means, “I don’t paint pictures. I paint stories. I offer a start, but the plot and the ending are up to you. If I knew what the paintings meant, I wouldn’t paint them.”
