Artist's statement"
The light is most important to me, with it's help I build paintings.
It's the creative strength of artistic visions. My paintings have, at
least I try for them to have a rich facture - imprints of shells,
birds' feathers, typing fonts, sand, plaster, leafs etc.
These agents, these tools serve in process of creation of fragile
space, rich and saturated with mystery. In my painting two worlds meet.
The first one, given as it is seen, being at the same time a pretext of
creative searching, deformations and transformations. The other one,
hidden and unrecognizable, merely sensed. These two coexist together
and in my visions they couterpoint each other.
My paintings are an (consiously) eclectic world. There is no human
being appearing in any of them, just as so many people in today's
contemporary world feel lonely and even alienated. Perhaps that's why I
have an impression that I am a part of a big theatre in which 'someone'
carefully crafted decorations, but there are no actors. Just as if the
performance did not started yet...
An important motive in my painting are doors, gates, openings,
cracks and crests opening towards transcendence, sacrum and mystery. I
believe that behind that crest in the realm that is not an object of my
artistic penetrations there is no void. There is light. And mentioning
the sphere, which comes back so frequently in my paintings she is the
fullest expression of perfection and a revelation of harmony and
splendid order.'
