About the artist
Member since 2008-12-04
A professional artist by trade for the last seven years, I create whimsical images for books, cards, and novelty products, as well as original art for private purchase.
BRIEF RESUME
The artist was born in Liverpool, England, 1979 to a family of luthier craftsmen. While studying at the University of Wales, Bangor, and pursuing art as a hobby rather than a vocation, she produced a quantity of early artworks, some of which found their way into various art and craft stores within the city. Following the completion of her Honours Degree, she left Bangor to pursue a further educational course in Multimedia Systems at Liverpool John Moores University and become fully computer-savvy. She continued to produce saleable artworks whilst studying, and made a living using newly-acquired skills in digital media and website design.
During this time she became interested in fine art and illustration and spent time honing techniques with computer media in digital painting, taking on projects as a freelance artist, producing illustrations, covers and concept designs for books, circulars, websites, graphic novels and indy films. She is currently studying for a BA (Hons.) in Illustration at Coventry University.
More recently, the artist has become involved in the production of original and ethnic fine art for sale or commission and providing select venues with custom artwork, but continues to work independently on other live projects, particularly in the field of illustration. In other fields, She has worked as a CAD designer, and her photography has recently been published in the scientific journal New Phytologist.
