A photograph is a portrait painted by the sun
Having shown no interest in cameras or photography before, I
was puzzled and unimpressed when I received as a present from my father a Nikon
F3, I decided to give it a go nonetheless and started snapping away at the world
around me. I quickly realised that not only did I like the way that his world
looked when viewed through a lens but that the photographs that I was taking
were actually pretty good. From such humble beginnings sprang an obsession with
capturing the image that carries on to this day and shows no signs of
slackening.
I was heavily influenced by the work of Sebastiao Selgado and
Tina Modotti,
Lesvos is a beautiful
islands in the middle of the Aegean where people try to live side by side with
nature. The sea is always a great inspiration for me, and also our mountains ,
reminders of Lesvos volcanic origins. I consider Lesvos to be one of the
greatest places in the world to live and visit today, so my main motivation is
to show you the best of this island, the beauty and the uniqueness of the people
and culture. In my gallery you can find photos about Lesvos landscapes,
festivals, architecture, traditions, wildlife and flora. I also shoot stock
photography, which is usually described as concept photos. You will also find
some travel photography from other places I have been to.
