The photo was taken a split second before this Mountain Lion grabbed me by the neck with his jaws...a mind altering moment if there ever was one. He immediately let go and licked my chin...all in the wink of an eye.
Lesson 1: It is better to take photos than to be in them.
Lesson 2: Wild animals are wild, wherever they are.
Lesson 3: I will probably die with obscenities on my lips...none of this life flashing before my eyes trash.
I'm a freelance graphic artist (http://mediaefex.com) and have recently finished building a photography site (http://larrygambon.com). I have traveled over 18,000 miles in the past 4 years photographing landscapes and animals and STILL can not believe how beautiful this country is. The USA is a dreamscape of vistas and wildlife that I will never be able to see enough of.
