There are many ways of encouraging people to visit your portfolio. There are two target audiences to focus on, namely people already on Voodoochilli.net and people that aren’t. Simple!

Below I will list a few methods to encourage both groups.

People on Voodoochilli

Interact
The best way to get other members to notice you and your work is to do the same to them. Visit other peoples portfolios, leave comments, talk about your work and others in the forum and generally interact.

Keyword your images
Images that are key-worded effectively will attract more visitors searching Voodoochilli. It will also increase your pages search engine ranking (see below).

Upload new work often
New uploads get listed on the home page and on the art categories pages so they are seen by many people. Uploading a new piece of work will let more people know about you and your art.

People not on Voodoochilli

Refer People
Probably the best single way to promote your own pages is to link to your portfolio. Place your link on your other portfolio sites, personal site, in emails, wherever you can and you will see an increase in visitors.

Keyword your images
As mentioned above, key-wording your images will increase the probability that people will find your art via a search engine.

Write a good CV/Résumé
A nice wordy CV will do better in search engines than just a short intro. Try to give as many relevant details as possible.

Get your page listed in Directories
Directories such as the Open Directory Project list artists. You might want to find the location you live in and request a link to your portfolio.
