What are chilli points?

Chilli points, also known as participation points are a system of reward on Voodoochill. We reward active members on the site by giving them chilli points.

What do they do?

You may have seen on some other sites and forums similar point systems. Often they are called “rep points” or something similar and they are used to indicate a members key value and contribution to a community. Well, we have taken a similar approach, but as well as showing your reputation our chilli points give you the following:

• A higher position on the artists page
  This is one of the most accessed pages on Voodoochilli and having a higher position will ensure your portfolio is viewed by more people
• More images
  Chilli points can be converted into upload credits. 100 chilli points is equal to an image upload, so for example if you have 1000 chilli points you can get an extra 10 reusable uploads for free. You don't have to earn more chilli points to get more images, you can buy them as well.
• Consideration
  One of the factors used when awarding prizes and promotions is the number of chilli points an artist has– we are more likely to reward artists who have been active on the site and have helped others in the past.
  

What do the little chilli icons represent?

Your chilli points are displayed in two ways, by number (the actual number of points you have) and by the icons which are a graphic representation of how many you have. If you have all five chilli points then it means you are a very active member on the site.

How can I get more of them?

There are many ways you can get more chilli points, but as a general rule you are rewarded by using the various features of the site and interacting with others. Here are some of the things that will get you more points:

• Logging in often
• Voting on artwork while logged in
• Leaving comments
• Chatting on the forum

Are there other times when I can get chilli points?

Yes, sometimes you may be given extra chilli points as part of a competition prize for example.
