Johan .... Yes I can identify with your fascination with the sea-rizon.. I really like the 'worked' surface of the paintings puts me in mind of Ben Nicholson's work. I visited the Tate gallery in St Ives Cornwall England in the Summer... it is a wonderful gallery on the sea front with beautiful views across the ocean. I saw an exhibition of artists who used the sea and Cornwall as inspiration...Nicholson, Hepworth, Richard Deacon..
This painting of your has a wonderful tension in the dark central shape..is it an opening or closing shape, will the whispy pencil lines open to reveal another shape?? just a few of the questions I ask myself.
Love the picture of your studio...I am very envious Simon Blundell
