Description/Technique: The Metalmorphosis Collection is a compilation of ten individually designed hand-crafted masks. Each mask is unique and sculpted using tin recycled from items including oil drums, soup cans and bean cans. The artist, David T Wells has drawn his inspiration from civilizations and cultures with long-established traditions of masking. The masks in the Metalmorphosis Collection are the artists’ interpretation of traditional, iconic masks from these cultures. Only ten of each mask will be sculpted and each will have a signed letter of authenticity. David T Wells has been designing and creating these masks for twelve years but has only recently decided to sell his work. Please take a few moments to read the concept below for a deeper understanding of his thoughts and inspirations.
