Artist Biography:


Maria Curcic studied Piano, art and ballet in at an early age.
She continued her interest in art and later attended the Alberta College of Art where she studied Drawing.

She continued her education at Mount Royal College in the field of Interior Design, which she completed in 1990.
She has had her art work and hats published in City Scope Magazine, Cameo, Avenue , and was on the cover of Where magazine May 2000.
Her work is also in the collection of the Alberta Foundation For the Arts.


Her interest in art and design led her to wearable art . She began making hand painted jackets with some of her flamboyant designs and then started making hats for a friends store which led her to open up her own shop back in 1994.

She has hat and art shows every September
Which helps raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer.

She continues to devote her energy to a broad range of creative explorations.
