Curriculum Vitae of Kellie Hogben

Kellie Hogben was born in Margate, Kent, England in 1987. She grew up and continues to live in the local area. She passed (with merit) a BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design at the University College for the Creative Arts (UCCA, previously known as KIAD) in Canterbury, Kent. She passed the first year of a Fine Art degree at Middlesex University, North London, but she was utterly dissatisfied with the course, tutors and everything about the university, so has transferred back to UCCA to complete the three year course.

In January 2008 she founded the Canterbury Stuckists with James Dunn. The stuckists are a reaction against the meaningless conceptual art which has flooded the art market. The group's website is www.canterburystuckists.tk

Kellie's artwork is generally all in two dimensions, being a skiller painter and draughtsman. Favoured media included oils and acrylics, pastels, pencil, charcoal, and biro. Up until September 2007 her work was all figurative, but since then she has also branched out into abstract. Some of her work has been discribed as Surrealist, some has been compared to the work of Miro. She is also an accomplished portraitist, and often undertakes commissions.
