Curriculum Vitae of Georgia Hurst
Georgia Hurst is a multi-faceted artist and designer with a true passion for her work and enthusiasm for the subjects that inspire her. Originally from the West Midlands, she soon fell in love with the sea and sailing, so decided to move to Cornwall the county surrounded by the ocean. Elements in her work that, for example, may be reminiscent of fishing lines or masts derive from this primary passion that motivates this well-travelled skipper. Her work seeks to capture the full majesty of the sea and our relationship with it. At the same time Georgia's vibrant, engaging personality shines through it, making the artwork uniquely her own. Her drive and zest for life has enabled her to realise her dreams.

“Georgia, first let me thank you for the nice comment you made about my oil painting "Venetian Sunset." Italy's a beautiful country and I cannot see how anyone would not want to capture the magic that lives there. you've done it well in this work. i miss the poppy fields. they were one of the most beautiful and natural things in italy i felt. in answer to your question about where else i show my work, at this time, i only have it on here. i've been thinking of updating it as i've developed some new work over the last semester but my schedule as a graphic design student leaves me little time for anything else (such as websites)! thanks for your input!! i enjoy hearing what others think about my work!! ”
Leah Budke

“Many thanks for you nice comment, Georgia. As it happens it has just been wiped off the site after I decided to tinker with the image some more (a vice of mine); I don't think the change will be very noticable, if at all, online. I have just discovered a new piece of software that might be of interest to you; it's called ArtRage, from ambientdesign.com. It takes up 14Mb of space (Painter weighs in at 365!)and is quite splendid for drawing and painting. It will set you back all of £12. Highly recommended. Regards.”
Denis A. Dowland

“My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this piece. We are curious what the swirl or loop is? Look forward to seiing more of your work in the future.”
Paul Abbott

“Paul and girlfriend, inspiration for painting was taken from photographs I took in Prison at Venice( no I wasnt in Prison) the dungeons and cells beneath the bridge of Sighs which links the palace to the cells. The swirl or loop is the stone wall with a crack to look out of cell to corridor and the only window, hence title 'INSIDE out'. ”
Georgia Hurst

“like this title”
Maxim Delia

“Love this picture of a place I've been to. ”

“I love the sky, I could dream beneath that palm for hours”
Georgia Hurst

“Hi Georgia! I love the sky too. Seeing the brightness of stars during the night or the transformation of clouds during the day is a life, poetry and feeling concert. The nature in all its artistic splendor.”
Hector Escalante-Rivera

“Perfect juxtapositioning of the elements (sharp pointy dark against fluffy bright). The translucent leaves work to bring it all together. Just need a glass of lemonade, and a lawn chair to gaze at this for a few hours.”
Antony Burt

“I love this Georgia, very calming.”
Carla Threlkeld

“this is stunning! I love the sky - the realism you've captured is amazing.”
