Gentian Alice is one of a series of innovative and stylized portraits drawing inspiration from such diverse areas as computerized technology, Andy Warhol and Che.
This portrait is of my daughter and is indicative of my work in Portraiture. Although live sessions are great, I am very happy to paint from photographs and computer images via the internet. I always like where possible to talk to the subject for a bit on the phone (or the person commissioning…) to get that deeper insight that a photograph may miss – but basically, I just love to paint portraits. After viewing your work I must say I really enjoy it very much. I love portraits. It seems to me that contemporary art is still prominent, but fine arts and tons of portraitures are making a comeback. Since I don’t paint much at all, I love to view paintings. I also have an appetite for beautiful women, so for you to do a portrait of your beautiful daughter, I think it is just superb. I look forward to viewing more of your work.
