Uploading Problems

A few users have recently been having problems uploading images. We have never been able to repeat the problems here - using Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) as a browser has solved these problems for most users. We are keen to fix this, if you have problems uploading please reply to this message, and give as much information about your set-up as possible e.g. your browser, operating system (Windows, Mac, etc), file type, etc. Also please email the files themselves to mail@voodoochilli.net and we will try and repeat the problem.

Is there an editing function?. If I want to make any changes I have to delete then re-upload. Is this the only way?

You can edit things like the title, keywords etc, but if you actually want to edit the image data you will need to delete and re-upload.

If your having a problem uploading your pictures, try renaming the origional file.
For example, if your file is titled "Untitled #5" then you will have to rename the actual file in your computer.
I.E. rename the origional file "Untitled5".

Hello Kevin,

To delete any unwanted images just use the drop-down menu at the top part of the interface (right of the logo) and choose modify images. (Press 'Go')

On the next page delete the images with the 'delete' link to the right of the page.

Hope that helps...

You will need to resize the images in an image editing program like Photoshop or any of the free ones that can be found on the web.

Hi Rebecca. You might also want to check out the Art Tutorials and FAQs page for some guidelines on sizing and file types. There are some good suggestions about displaying them as well. If you are still having trouble let me know and I will see if I can help you further.

Hi Rebecca,
Do you have image editing software on your computer? Also, what operating system are you running on your computer? Generally speaking there is a resize image feature in most software. it should have a panel for changing the resolution and the physical size of the art. The resolution should be 72 dpi. you want the physical size of the image to be as large as you can make it at the resolution while keeping within the file size limitations mentioned on the upload page. For example, one of my images is 72dpi at 5X5 and uploaded just fine. I use Photoshop for my image editing. If you have a digital camera with software for it there should be some kind of interface for changing your image size. I hope this helps!

I do have a problem with moving around the site during the day. Sometimes pages will not load up at all.
