Talk about anything that pops into your mind in here, over a nice cold beverage(or hot, if you prefer). Sports(American and everyone else, lol), work or play. Anything but art. And keep it civil, folks, or Marcus, that 300 lb. gent standing by the door will have to ask you to leave. Have fun.

Oh well its August Bank Holiday a little earlier this year .....the nights are staring to draw in.... Daylight hours are getting shorter.....
More time being spent in the bar from now on for the autumn and winter months...

It is nice to have friends to talk to here!..Smile

More time for the old slap and tickle with the missus, too, Georgia. If I may be so bold.

I gotta say, the British vernacular IS a hoot!

I'm currently sitting on the floor of my bathroom, with my laptop and a chinchilla I've been babysitting for the past week while her owner is in Spain. I kid you not. It feels slightly surreal, but I kind of like that!

Oh... Hang on... I'm meant to be in the pub aren't I? Hmmm... Going to have to think about this one for a while... I'll get back to you...

I'm just afraid I might enjoy it too much, and it will become a drinking "requirement" every time I tilt a bottle!

Thought of the day - It's gorgeous outside. Woke up this morning and it was 55 degrees in Texas, only mid-September... must be those hurricanes bringing in a cold front. I love it, but in the back of my mind lurks the sad fact that Global Warming is to blame.

Alright, then I'll go to the first thing on my mind. How is it that the world seems to evolve around sex? I mean, for some reason I can't seem to meet someone without them, by the end of the day, trying to figure out the quickest was of getting me out of my clothes... I don't mind sex but since I had gotten into trouble what feels like a million times before, I would prefer getting to know people first (and as such decide if I like them and if they're worth trusting), but the interest in getting to know me seems to be lacking...
For once it would be nice to meet someone who looks me in the eye instead of down my shirt... But lately it's starting to feel like I'm forever doomed to walk the earth along perverts...
I'm too boring I guess..

Hi Nicole, Nice to meet you.Welcome to the pub. Sex does make the world go 'round, but love is more important. I don't think there is any thing wrong with casual sex, it just isn't for me. I found the girl of my dreams, and I am totally in love with her, but I have to admit that sex played a huge role in the beginning. We have been together now for six years and are totally happy. It does happen. I do not know if you meet people at clubs, but in my experience, that is the worse place to find MR. or Mrs. right. A lot of the people who go there are interested in, er, um, quick and easy sex. Keep looking. Sometimes shy people are more interesting once you get to know them than a lot of the raving extroverts out there. Give it time and don't sell yourself short.

Well, folks, I will be taking a little vacation from the Internet and you guys, come Tuesday morn. I finally go to New York(by Amtrak). Get to sit in Penn Station for 3 hours(oh boy!), then off to Syracuse, and finally to the sleepy little town of Binghamton. I'll click off some pics while I'm up there in the woods. I should be back in a few weeks.

Franklin,
Yeah I know. I usually don't go "clubbing" so that's not really my problem... That's not the kind of people I meet.
And the problem with shy people is that I'm shy myself so it usually just seems to end up with hitting the wall, sort of.
Hm, morning-rambelings, I'm not really sure what I'm talking about, haha. -tired.

This is the nature of man, literally. And it does exactly that, "evolve" around sex. Richard Dawkins has written a lot of stuff about the selfish gene that is pretty interesting. He states that our genes are prepositioned to try and procreate, otherwise they would stop existing themselves. Its only since we have evolved the brains we have that we even started to even think about such things.I mean look at Chimps, they shag anything moving including their parents, grandparents and even their own offspring, and they don't tend to ask either!

I guess contraception changes things a bit too for humans, but the 3 billion year old drives are still there regardless. Maybe one day life will be a bit different, but you have to remember we are still evolving. sounds like a good excuse anyway!
