Talk about anything that pops into your mind in here, over a nice cold beverage(or hot, if you prefer). Sports(American and everyone else, lol), work or play. Anything but art. And keep it civil, folks, or Marcus, that 300 lb. gent standing by the door will have to ask you to leave. Have fun.

I think technology has changed things alot making things more accessible to the population...take this website for instense all i need is a scanner and some software and i can upload pictures were ever i want its the same with music their are websites that support unsigned artists giving people a chance to get their stuff seen or herd were other wise the opportunities might be more limited. Technology is just an improvement on what has come before aiming to better the previous product in order to claim that the human race is advancing....i also cook from scratchSmile

Digital cameras are a boon to the photographic industry. I love the tools available in the digital darkroom. I was never able to solarize prints before (knew the theory, but never did it), but wow... now I can create a solarized image in a few seconds with the curves tool.

Technology is fine and great, for 95% of the time.

Last time I went to McDonald's was... over 30 years ago, but I rarely cook from scratch. Spagetti, is dried noodles and a bottle of really good sauce...

Might as well use ketchup. Besides, sauce from scratch is always better during the next couple days. And canned sauce doesn't have shrimp, andouille, portabellas, saute'ed garlic and onions, and other goodies floating about in it. And a spoon wont stand up straight, in canned sauce.

Well well well with technology and our wonderful voodoo site I have found the younger generation do cook out there....even Joseph in his own way, but that's what it is all about.

Preparing and cooking food is like painting a bit here a bit more of this a little less of that and we are away food to be enjoyed...........

.....food to be enjoyed.....like a painting.

the only difference is the artwork can be enjoyed by thousands of people ...6478 on voodoo alone and can last years;

BUT the food, lovingly and artistically prepared and cooked is only enjoyed by a few... and between 24 and 48 hours... before it is flushed away down the loo

Have to disagree again. I have artistic meals from many years ago, still hanging to my waist, thighs, arse, etc. Kind of look like Dali's melted watches. lol

Those Dali like attributes are not the original works of art, but an interpretation. You have successfully infused a series of objects de art and made a new work of art from them...

A recent news article about an attack within a Wales 'Jedi' church where the founders were beaten by a drunkard dressed up as Darth Vader. In conclusion, some census data was given for both the UK and Canada.

"In the 2001 United Kingdom census, 390,000 people - 0.7 per cent of the population - listed Jedi as their religion.

They are not alone - 20,000 Canadians also listed their religion as Jedi in 2001."

Life imitates art. Rather trivial, but sort of funny. While some of the 'converts' had likely claimed to be Jedi just to have fun filling out the census forms, some obviously are more serious about it (since at least one church is operational.)

Where's my light sabre...

I had thought of starting a member cookbook thread on another site. I ran a poll of their favorite pizza toppings, just to see what response I'd get.

It was pretty gruesome.

Made me leery about what horrid concoctions they'd come up with for recipes, so I abandoned the idea.

But you're welcome to give it a shot! LOL

Well gang.. I have really worked hard today and not eaten yet; but you lot have had me in stiches, while the new pots with fresh mint are cooking...
totally hilarious I love the idea of Dali Flab....

Barb your idea of pics of food seems good... we will have to involve Harry somehow... because we cant upload pics unless they are in our portfolio.

I think that would be Tasmania. If I'm wrong, free drinks for virtually everyone.
