Talk about anything that pops into your mind in here, over a nice cold beverage(or hot, if you prefer). Sports(American and everyone else, lol), work or play. Anything but art. And keep it civil, folks, or Marcus, that 300 lb. gent standing by the door will have to ask you to leave. Have fun.

"Yes its a lot quicker - I just wish I could work out what is stopping the new threads. I have asked one of my coders to have a look when he can." Harry O'Connor

Maybe HAL 9000 didn't like the topics?

daylight savings time again already, i was just gettin' used to the other stuff. i think it's "spring ahead, fall back". but if you live in a drinking town it's very often "fall ahead" and if you make marcus mad, "spring back.
got up as usual at 4 this morning, discovered it was 5 (all the clocks reset themselves now so you can't forget
and be late for church any more.

I've never really understood what daylight savings time is meant for, other than to aggravate me twice a year. Is it for the farmers, or something?

It is supposed to give farmers more daylight hours to do their work. I think it's a dumb thing to have.

In the UK originally it was done to make it safer for the children to go to school in daylight......
Now I dont know!!

Maybe they should let the farmer's have it, and let the rest of us stay on a regular clock. I think I heard somewhere that we lose a minute a year because of it.

What is it time-wise? In Miami, it's about 5 hours earlier than the UK. I've got a buddy in Manchester, and he's always off-line about 6 or 7 pm, my time. I just noticed they have us all listed by country, and not city. I could have lied and said Beverly Hills. lol

I probably should have the site show local time on the forum - kind of makes sense. Maybe I should put a field in the control panel so people can select their time zones.

Thinking about this I should be able to detect the time zone automatically.

I like that idea Harry
when chatting I automatically asume the other person is on same time as myself but of course this does not apply they could even be a day behind or in front

I noticed this in photoblog while communicating with Art.

I personally would find it very useful

I think the 1st week I was here, I was looking at the map to see where everyone is clustered up at. Have to take a look at it again sometime.

i never look at the clocks on the sites (i barely look at the ones in my house) at the end of the day i figure most of us are coffee drinkin' insomniacs anyway. (LOL)

I dont need a clock normally I can tell the time by other methods,
but I am interested to whom I am talking to If I am about to cook dinner now (evening meal)You are probably about to have breakfast
I have lived my day and you are about to start yours
......excluding Art of course who does not sleep......

I just find it intrigueing (sugar spelt it wrong) lets say interesting, instead; to embrace this time thing
