(4591) What's this?Haven't checked this thread for a
while - theres a lot going on here.
Joseph, I see what you mean about
America/England not being what it
used to, and I wouldn't have to
travel as far as London to find a
Mc Donalds. London is like another
country to me and I avoid it as
much as possible.
What I would say is that I live in
one of the smaller cities in
England (Hereford) and apart from
the few Mc Donald style shops etc
that have sprung up in the last 2
decades, this place is the same as
it was 50 years ago. On my street
people live in the same houses as
their great grand parents did. The
pubs are like something out of a
war movie. I guess things are
changing, but not everywhere is
100% capitalised yet.

(1150) What's this?I understand that we have a few things here, that we haven't built over.....yet, like the Grand Canyon and such, but not everyone is into hiking and rock climbing when they travel. They are currently thinking about a total rehabilitation of New Orleans(my home town) which will be a crying shame. It was one of the few cities in the US that made you feel like you were in another country. If it is updated to another plastic no- character style American city, I shall never return. They did the same thing to Las Vegas. back in the 70's when I used to go there, it was seedy, tacky and adult-oriented and dangerous. Sin-City. Everything you expected from a city founded by gangsters. That is why you went. For the adreneline rush, the thrill. Now, it's just another Disneyland. I've never been back since.

(2814) What's this?'I keep spotting English actors
more and more in US telly, Hugh
Lauie in House,'
Im glad you mentioned House Tracey
it is one of my faves and my
daughter loves it too, something we
love to watch together.
The thing is the basic storyline is
same every time, sick person on
verge of dying with some obscure
illness, and only House solves the
problem. They go through the same
procedures, almost the same
dialogue when in conference
diagnosing the poor soul.
I know the rest of the storyline is
about the evolving of the permanant
characters and their interaction;
but I think its magic. ( maybe we
are being hynotised to watch; with
invisible messages to the naked eye
hidden in the images and script)
I dont know what the magnetism is I
make a point to watch it; even to
the degree I have watched several
repeats.
If I knew the secret I would bottle
it,
Sell it, Make a fortune, and sail
away into the sunset.

(1793) What's this?i turned on to this a few monbths
ago and lately my conscience
demands i share the link.
(especially with my american
voodoo-brothers and sisters).
artists are the seers and shamans
of our time. the real and only
"agents of change" as recent
politico-speak would say it.

else will. . .

(1150) What's this?I sold a painting yesterday(thru Craigslist). First one I've sold in a very loooooooooooooong time. I sold it for a couple hundred less than what I was asking, but I still made a decent profit. As a matter of fact, the painting is one of the pieces I have featured here "Power Broker"(the man with the head of an ocelot,or whatever it is, been a long time since I painted it). Anyway, one less piece on the pile(unfortunately, it was one of my smaller paintings, I still have a 4' x 8' monstrosity to sell). So the drinks are on me today! Cheers!

(1150) What's this?Well, I took some of my profit, and gave my computer an enema. I had a nasty virus for the past 2 1/2 months, which explains why I've only been here at certain times. Adware and spyware would come up every night like clockwork, and drill me a new one. The past month, I haven't been able to back anything up, so things have been piling up like crazy. A techie came in, downloaded Vista, and I'm state of the art, now. Lets see how long it takes me to screw it all up again. And I will screw it all up again, I promise. I have to track down a few links and try to remember a LOT of passwords. There is always fun stuff to do in Internetland. Lalalalalala LOL
