Party at the Voodoo Pub? Or do you plan to be on your best (meaning sober)behavior?

I won't be drinking. We never have the money for a babysitter.

hmmmm ...I don't wish to be controversial, but ...why do we make such a thing of St Patrick's day, but are almost too embarrassed to even acknowledge St George's??????

I've seen pubs try, but obviously without the same level of fanfare received by St. Patricks day events. I guess it's part (beverage-related) marketing...

Yes, its just because really people think of it as "Guinness" day. If St George's day was a close memetic cousin of say larger or cider then I think more people would celebrate it. Actually, really it's an insult to the Irish, because when we think of their national holiday we think of getting rat-arsed. And the truth of the matter is St. Patrick was English, born in Cumbria, so not sure what all the fuss is about on that front!

Its just bit of fun and another excuse for us to saturate our already damaged livers in a bath of ethanol. Smile

I nominate 'Old Speckled hen' ...for no better reason than I like it (and so does 'Dave' apparently) ...well, it does conjure up an interesting image as old George's adversary!

Yes it's not bad. I don't rink much real beer these days but I used to like a pint of "flowers".
