i think some sort of communications place would be grat, some times you want other artists comment more in depth or make suggestions, theres no such thing as bad critism in art,

How about contests? Like a photo assignment of the month sorta thing, and pick the person who gets the best average vote? I always love going on assignment.

okey, the images sizes are ONLY good because of that no images can be stealled in hi res. BUT, there are images that are e bit impossible to turn into 150KB! its toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooo tiny, all my imges have about 1mb, if i turn them into 150k it wont be goos looking at the image, i'll have to resize it to 50x50 px (kidding) but this is a lame =/

You don't need to resize your image, technically speaking, to reduce the filesize... but it's one way. Another way is to try different JPG quality settings. I know Photoshop has a 4-up option which lets you compare 4 different versions. All of my photographs are around 3.2MB (2100x2000ish). I took them down to 500x375px and used JPG quality of 80%, which seemed to do the trick and still look good.

Yes I agree with Jason. Any image can be made to be under 150k and still look good on screen. don't believe me? Send me an image and I will show you.

on the vote room random image thing ("you might also like. . ."), could there be a way to list the title or artist's name with the image so that if you catch an image you're interested in, after you've already (for instance) hit the "fave this" button, you don't lose your chance to find that image?

I just wanted to second Jason Stengren's suggestion of having weekly/monthly/bi-monthly type competitions, perhaps genre specific, but also some that might transcend genre (similar to the image of the month comp.). could be accomplished in part by setting up separate forum topics to suit these particular competitions...those members who have added to the thread on that particular topic should be allowed to submit and then vote accordingly. just brainstorming the logistics, but ultimately, competitions often help me focus and refine my work.

Harry,
Is there a place on the site that tells us how long a person has been a member.

you know "member since xxxx" type of thing or is there not a way to really keep track.

I had no problem uploading art, but I am noticing that a lot of people end up posting images that are too small to see. I don't know how to help that, but perhaps a link to how to reduce your image properly for placing on the site or a tutorial? I have been working in the desktop publishing biz for years, but I know that not everyone has the same skill set. Just an idea. I wanted to vote for some folks, but couldn't see their stuff.

here, I've got an idea. would it be possible to arrange the images of our portfolios in sets, so that if you have a sequence of pictures they could be grouped in the same folder, for example?
