Forum - Site Suggestions
Do you have idea that would improve Voodoochilli? If so, this is
the place to discuss it.

i think an internal communication
system would be great! It would be
a nice opportunity to network with
other artists. There is nothing
more frustrating than getting a
great comment or suggestion and
having a question about it but no
way to contact the person.

I was just recently browing through
the photographs. I like how the
images go from most recent
backward, but once you click on an
image and get into someones profile
there is no way to get back to the
photos other than that back button
which can be a pain if you chose to
explore someones profile more after
you clicked on one of their
pictures. I would suggest a back
to list link that would take you
back to the page you were on, sorta
like ebay. I don't really know how
else to explain it, so i'm sorry if
i'm being a little unclear. I just
find it a little hard to navigate
sometimes.

I don't know if you would
necessarily need another section
for this or just a thread in the
forum, but i think it would be
great if you could get people that
are looking for apprentices or
contacts for advice to post so
maybe some members can help them
out. I know just out of college I
would've loved a site like this
where I could ask people near me
for advice or they could post for
help.

I agree with you there. Some of
the best photographs i've seen on
here had some of the lowest ratings
because of the subject and content
not because they were visually bad
or poorly done. I myself love
comments and critiques as well. It
really helps you grow as an artist.

All Good sugestions Heather,
thanks.

I think it would be handy if you
could click on to the users on line
and be linked direct to their
portfolio. That way you can see
what type of work they do. This
would be particularly helpful if
you decide to have instant
messaging.

I meant that it would be nice to
have the random image feature
turned into a search function. You
could see the first random image,
view and comment, and have it
generate another random image to
view and comment on. I think it
might be a nice way to begin
exploring the site; the volume of
art works makes it is difficult to
know where to start.

Maybe a way to edit your post say
up to half an hour after you have
clicked submit.

To increase the amount of comments
on people's art work and to
encourage people to comment, a link
would be handy on their name to
take them to their portfolio or a
simple reply button.

Maybe we should set some crtiera
for the voting process. any
suggestions?

What's wrong with just letting the
individual vote for the piece they
feel is best, based on their own
personal criteria. At the end of
the day you can't control free will
without smothering liberty of
thought and choice... granted with
many aspects of society a certain
measure of control and supervision
is needed but I don't think people
need to be nannied about which
artwork they vote for on a
portfolio/gallery site. I tend to
vote for work that's fresh,
original, well executed and
whatever provokes an emotional
reaction as well as a rational one.

Ok, your point is also taken! Any
more views on this one?

I think the image of the Month
should appear at least twice the
current size on the home page. When
an artist is selected he or she
could submit a larger file image of
the original uploaded portfolio
image.

When I first registered for the
site I was invited to fill out a
survey regarding site usage. I
hadn't used the site yet so I could
not provide any real feedback. I
would suggest not sending out the
survey for a week or two for newly
registered artists.

I uploaded an self-portrait image
in the control panel. Where does
this appear? I don't see it in my
portfolio.
Thank You,

Hey thanks for pointing that out!
it seems the host people have
upgraded the server to the latest
version of PHP, meaning I had to
change a bit of code. If you spot
anything else, please tell me!

If it was bigger on the home page
it wouldnt fit in the design, and
also many people use 1024 x 768
monitors or smaller , meaning that
it would be at the bottom of the
page if it was larger.

I think there should way to view
the full size of an image you are
voting for, for the image of the
month. Like when you click on "view
and vote" it should show that page
then when you click on the picture
maybe bring up the full view image.
Or is there already a way to do
this.

Oh and one more thing kind of along
those same lines. When your looking
through someones portfolio and you
click on one of their pictures, if
the picture is too large for the
screen it just gets cut off. I
think there should be a way to
scroll in the fullsize window or
resize it. Or is there?
