Thanks Georgia! Glad you like
Flutterbry, it's one of my
favorites too. I checked out your
work, it's beautiful, so peaceful
and calm. The colours work so well
together. I'm going to work on a
couple of new pieces this week, so
will hopefully have some more up
soon. This site is great, wish i
had known about it sooner!

Hi Lorraine,
Absolutely brilliant pencil work. I commented on a couple.
As far as freelance is concerned I can give you a little general advice. The market over there might be different than here stateside, but here goes.
First consider who uses what you do. If you work exclusively in pencil, look for folks who publish pencil art. I know there are poster companies who do that over here so that might be a start. They publish drawings of famous people. There is a book here for freelance artists called The Artists Market. Their may be a UK version. It lists companies and contacts for those companies where you can send your work. Local add agencies are also a good place to knock on their doors to try to show your portfolio. You will need to have a couple of printed samples to promote your work. SOmething to leave behind or mail out to remind the that you are there and that you are hungry and willing to work. There are online sites that will print 1000 postcards, full color for $100 USD.
When I first started promoting myself I did these things:
1. I made sure I had a clean portfolio of well mounted samples that looked professional with matching mattes.
2. I printed samples. Some color some B&W for leave behinds.
3. I researched who might buy the type of art I did.
I called, made appointments, knocked on doors and mailed samples.
4. Perhaps the most important thing... I followed up.
Now life is a bit easier today. With the internet and blogs and websites like this you can promote yourself to the world. The trick is getting Joe Blow art director to go to the site to see your stuff. That's where a source like the Artists Market can work for you. There are also companies that will sell you mailing lists of potential clients. You can find those online. Other than that it is work, work, work. Then work some more. Keep a stiff upper lip in the face of rejection and forge ahead.
I hope some of this has helped and I wish you the best of luck. Your drawings are very nice.

Hello Matthew,
I’ve just joined today, are you asking for people to work on an animation project you have? If so, please look at my work and see if I could be of any help. I would love some freelance work.
Lorraine.
