Curriculum Vitae of Calvin Innes

Hi, I’m Calvin Innes.

I’m a freelance illustrator, designer,
cartoonist, artist and animator. I’m also a published children’s
author, with books available in the UK, USA and across the internet.
I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, and now
split my time between freelance illustration, running my
animation/publishing studio (My Little Big Town) and running my web
& graphic design studio (GizMedia). I’m always looking for new
projects to work on, so drop me an e-mail and I’ll get right back to
you with a quote.

I write and illustrate children’s books, as well as creating
illustrations for clients across the world. You can see my work in
books and on merchandise in the UK, USA and Europe as well as further
afield in Japan, Australia, India, South America and beyond. My artwork
and designs can also be seen on numerous websites, ranging from company
mascots, to poster designs, promotional illustrations and web graphics.

While the majority of my work is on children’s illustrations for
books and commercial use, I also illustrate comic books, graphic novels
and promotional material. Some of my past clients include The Brownies,
UK Girl Guides, Rainbow Guides, Cadbury’s, Nestle, The Sea Life Centre,
Bakkavor, Endsleigh Insurance, Monkey Kingdom, Sony, Scholastic, Grain
Magazine, Bakkavor, Twisted Winds Ltd, National Trust For Scotland,
plus dozens of other business’ and individuals.

I write and illustrate four comic book series, The League Of Really
Bad Superheroes, Barley, Billy Bob Cletis Jr and Cat On The Moon, as
well as several one-off comic books/graphic novels including ‘And The
Point Is’ and ‘The Clown King’.

I’ve worked on a huge range of projects ranging from character &
mascot design for business’ and sports teams, children’s book
illustrations, commercial poster design and advertising illustrations,
website designs & web graphics, plus animations (both traditional
and Flash) for use on the web and television. I work with several other
authors, creating illustrations for their books as well as illustrating
my own short stories and books.

I studied for TV & Film design for 4 years at University, where
I developed my storyboarding and drafting skills. I also began working
with various animation techniques.. Shortly after I ‘went freelance’ I
founded my design studio and animation studio, which now work with
numerous clients from all corners of the world. I now live and work in
Yorkshire in the UK, with my fiance and two cats (Hendrix & Koko).
